Montserrat Strengthens Parliamentary Ties at 2026 COTSC in Cayman Islands

The Legislative Assembly of Montserrat is poised to enhance its parliamentary governance as it participates in the highly anticipated 2026 Commons and Overseas Territories Speakers’ Conference (COTSC) in the Cayman Islands from May 24–30, 2026. Representing Montserrat at this crucial gathering are the Honourable Speaker, Ms. Marjorie Smith, and Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Judith Baker. The conference aims to unite Speakers and Clerks from across the Overseas Territories and the UK House of Commons to address shared challenges and fortify parliamentary governance.

This year's conference will focus on modernizing legislative institutions, safeguarding democratic processes, and ensuring stable, high-quality parliamentary administration in a rapidly evolving political landscape. The discussions will center on how territories can adapt to contemporary challenges while maintaining effective governance.
